‘Outstanding teaching and curriculum provision that really capture pupils' interests and actively engage them in purposeful learning ensure that they make excellent progress. Achievement is outstanding.’ OFSTED 2010
Our school is situated within a vibrant community in Middleton, part of the borough of Rochdale. It is a large, thriving primary school for children aged 3-11. There are approximately 900 children on roll in 30 classes. We have a wonderful school building equipped with the latest technology and high quality resources to give our children an excellent start to their education.
We provide the highest quality of education for all our children. We combine excellent teaching in an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. We seek to capture children’s interests, extend their knowledge and skills, and raise their aspirations. Our teaching and learning is designed to bring subjects to life, both in the classroom and through a variety of inspiring experiences in the wider community. We encourage children to take an active role in their education, developing the skills they need for independent learning.
We believe children gain most when there is a high level of parental engagement and participation. Support from home is one of the most important influences on a child’s education and we work closely with all of our parents and carers to achieve the best for each child. As we strive to further improve our school, the support and feedback from parents and carers is vital and much appreciated.
Our expectations in terms of both learning and behaviour are high and our children respond with enthusiasm, politeness and consideration for others. Our broad curriculum and rich programme of extra-curricular activities provide a well-rounded education, supported by excellent pastoral care.
