SCIENCE INVESTIGATION
Nature scavenger hunt
(Ideal for children from Nursery upwards.)
You will need:
-suitable clothes for the weather
-a bag to collect things you find
-a magnifying glass if you have one
What to do:
1. Go for a walk in a local park/woodland or other nature area you might find.
2. You can use an app such as this one to identify trees you see: https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/trees-woods-and-wildlife/british-trees/tree-id-app/
3. You could photograph or collect things you find interesting or something of each colour of the rainbow. The science bit: Try to find signs of seasonal change such as colourful leaves in autumn or buds and shoots in spring.
Additional task: Make a pattern, face or collage out of the leaves, flowers or twigs you find on the ground.
