Fast testing
FAST Testing, which use lateral flow tests, is available for anyone who lives or works in the borough and cannot work from home.
Testing is free, there is no need to book and is only for people who show no symptoms.
If you do have symptoms you need to book a covid-19 test through the NHS – details of how to do this can be found here – rochdale.gov.uk/Coronavirus
FAST testing is available at the following sites:
Sites are open 8am-7pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 4pm at weekends.
We recommend that you get tested twice a week.

We know that finding childcare can be difficult. Rochdale LA have made us aware that babysitting services are being offered via a website called nextdoor.co.uk. Parents in the borough have used this site unaware that those offering their services have not been vetted and safety checked. This opens the door to adults intending to harm children. The ‘Safe After School’ parent booklet provides advice to parents when selecting tutors, babysitters, childminders and out of school activities. This booklet will help you to ensure that the relevant checks have been undertaken and the appropriate questions asked to safeguard your child. Rochdale LA also holds a list of all registered childminders in the area.

Dear parents/carers
During these difficult times, school continue to have a duty of care to safeguard all pupils.
Where pupils are attending school, due to the need to socially distance, direct contact with parents and pupils has decreased significantly. Where pupils are accessing home learning, contact is limited to live sessions via Google Classroom. In order to support all pupils and their families, teaching staff will be undertaking regular phone contact with all families, whether pupils are attending school or accessing remote learning from home. The purpose of these calls is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the whole family. We feel these calls are important because life has changed so dramatically due to the lockdown restrictions in place currently. We don’t want any family to feel isolated and unsupported during what is a very challenging time for all.
For the most part phone calls will be weekly, however where a child has attended school regularly or has been seen on the Live Google Classroom sessions, contact will be once every 2 weeks unless there are additional concerns.
Where, despite repeated attempts, phone contact has been unsuccessful, staff may make the decision to undertake a doorstep visit at your home. Depending upon the outcome of the visit, further actions may need to be undertaken such as follow up by the police or Children’s Social Care.
Thank you for your understanding,
Claire Smith
